What is the 10 Plus Preparation Programme?

Our 10 Plus Preparation Programme provides structured teaching across all key areas assessed in 10+ entrance exams, including maths, creative writing, comprehension, verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, as well as exam practice and interview preparation.

We specialise in preparing children for entrance exams to leading independent and grammar schools in London and the surrounding counties, with a strong and well-established track record. Over the past 12 years, we have supported more than 900 pupils, helping families prepare for schools such as City of London School, Whitgift, Kingston Grammar, Emanuel School, and many others.

We recognise that the 10+ is a competitive assessment and that outcomes depend on a range of factors, including when preparation begins, a child’s individual strengths, and increasing levels of competition. For this reason, pupils are assessed on an ongoing basis, allowing us to provide honest feedback on progress and suitability.

After an initial period of tuition (typically 4–8 weeks, depending on age and level), we are able to give parents clear guidance on strengths, areas for development, and whether continued preparation is appropriate. We only recommend ongoing tuition where it is in the child’s best interests and where we believe meaningful progress can be made.

While our classes are academically focused, we strongly believe that children learn best when they feel motivated, supported and engaged. Our lessons are therefore designed to be structured yet enjoyable, helping pupils build confidence, develop a positive attitude towards learning, and leave sessions feeling encouraged and proud of their progress.

How is the Course delivered?

We offer both face-to-face and online classes.

In School (Face to Face)

Students receive a 2.5-hour lesson every Saturday. Each session is split into two parts:

  • Maths & Non-Verbal Reasoning
  • English & Verbal Reasoning

Classes are small, with a maximum ratio of 7 students per tutor, ensuring focused and effective learning. Managing tutors are highly competent and have over 10 years of entrance exam experience. All classwork, homework, assessments, mock exams and online practice materials are included.

Who is the 10 Plus preparation class for?

Our 10 Plus Preparation Programme is available both online and face to face and is suitable for pupils in Year 3 through to Year 5. Children are placed into small groups according to year group and ability, ensuring lessons are well paced, focused and appropriately targeted.

The Year 3 programme is designed to build strong foundations across all four assessed areas: maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Pupils are introduced to key problem-solving strategies alongside early exam skills such as timing, question approach and mock-style practice.

Advanced vocabulary development and creative writing are also incorporated into group sessions, encouraging discussion and peer learning. This helps pupils develop their written expression within a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

We recommend that pupils begin the programme by Year 4 at the latest, allowing sufficient time to develop the skills required for the 10+ assessment. At this stage, teaching introduces more challenging topics while continuing to strengthen core skills in maths and English. Pupils learn how to approach a wide variety of question types and are given regular opportunities to practise techniques across all four subjects.

The Year 5 programme focuses on the final stage of 10 Plus entrance exam preparation for independent schools. Tuition follows the 10+ syllabus closely, with greater emphasis on exam technique, accuracy and confidence, helping pupils apply their knowledge effectively under timed conditions.

Classes run throughout the year, and pupils may join at any point, as the programme is designed to cover the full syllabus on a rolling basis. An earlier start allows for more gradual skill development, but meaningful progress can still be made at later stages.

We have personally helped students gain acceptance into schools such as:

  • St. Paul’s School
  • Notting Hill and Ealing
  • Latymer Upper
  • North London Consortium
  • Dulwich College
  • Westminster
  • Wetherby
  • Queen’s College

  • King’s College School

Testimonials

“I have known 11 plus London since 2019 (pre- pandemic). Jane and her team helped my son navigate the path to the 11plus exams. They worked on his weaknesse with a lot of patience. The team is very approachable, polite and honest especially Jane. My ds got into QE boys Barnet with a decent score. They have been helping my daughter for her exams in 2025 and are a big help in building her confidence. I would genuinely recommend the lessons”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the help you have given to my child and in preparing for the 11+ assessment. Teachers are amazing and my child could learn exam techniques enjoyably and efficiently. With your wonderful support, my child could have got an offer from his first choice school. Highly recommend..”

“My children started attending since July last year and I cannot recommend enough. Within three months Jane prepared my daughter for St Pauls, Francis Holland and Henrietta Barnet Schools. I have taken both group face to face and individual classes.”

“Highly recommended. I researched a lot of tutoring options from 1-1 to group and found this one to be the best for my 2 sons. One prepared for 7+ and got offered places at our both choices – Highgate and UCS. Other is still preparing for 11+ so results are yet to be out, but progress already demonstrated in his improved performance at school. Many places are very transactional, but we felt Jane and team really cared and persoanlly involved on the journey. Many thanks!”

“My daughter was really happy to study in the 11plus London, she learnt a lots and make friends there, at the end she still missing the place.
My friend recommended this centre to us, because I’m afraid to trying any place without recommendations, sometimes just waste money and time. But we got the right place to study. Really appreciate all the teachers, its group lessons but the teachers treat everyone children likes individual lessons, they helped each student to correct the home work, and the topics cover everything and give more work which your child the weak topic.
Too much wants to tell, they caring every children leaning in the centre and really helps a lot. And really surprising is my child love there and never complain about study that means she really enjoys study there. This is the happiest things we thought about it.
Hope this message could help the parents and children find the right place to learn.”
