Join award winning artist Donna Brewins-Cook for a monthly relaxing, friendly, adult mindful art club that will SHED the stresses of the day!

Can't draw? Think again! At SHED we love doodles, scribbles and all things expressive. No previous drawing experience necessary, just an ability to have fun!

The sessions will include mindful drawing and breathing to start (about 10 mins), an informal talk and slide show on a famous artist, art movement or theme, and then longer personal creative time to create a drawing, collage or painting inspired by the monthly theme(s).

No previous art or mindful breathing experience is necessary, as Donna will guide you through all the simple mindful art exercises. Donna will also encourage your individualism and creativity to grow with each session.

*Each session a tea break with light refreshments will be scheduled in to enable you to get to know the other art club attendees.

SHED is an inclusive, welcoming, safe space for all!

Tuesday 11th November: 'The Potting Shed in Autumn':

This month's class is for people potty about gardening and the garden shed! As the days shorten and we retreat from the garden into our sheds more , Donna will be bringing in props that are all garden shed related, from architectural plant seed heads, autumn leaves, seasonal veg, lanterns and pots to gardening tools. We will also look at artists who have been inspired by horticulture throughout the seasons in their own work.

Tuesday 9th December: 'Tis the Season...':

Well it's that time of the year again....Christmas is coming! Join Donna for a visual feast and celebration of all things festive! From toys to bauble making, this session will be much freer and partcipants can choose from creating a festive drawing, collage or painting , a seasonal party hat or mask, or making decoupage Christmas decorations. Bring a favourite toy to draw or get inspiration from the props at SHED.

*In this Christmas session there will also be a free Christmas raffle, hot chocolate and mince pies.

Tuesday 13th January 2026: 'Barbara Hepworth; Form over Function':

New Year, New Class! This workshop is for people who love to draw and explore natural forms. We will be looking at the great female sculptor Barbara Hepworth, and exploring how she used modern, pared-back techniques to create beautiful sculptures inspired by the natural world around her near her home at St Ives, Cornwall. Drawing props will include shells, pebbles and found natural objects from the moors and woods around Sheffield. If you have a particular natural found object you would like to explore in charcoal and pastels, please bring it along!

*All classes include basic art materials, including paper, drawing materials, watercolours and acrylic paints, but you are welcome to bring your own additional art materials if you wish.

Free light refreshments of tea, coffee, juice & biscuits will also be available at each class.

*SHED is aimed at adults, but 14-18 year old can attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
