RE:PLAY - The AI & Sports Intelligence Summit
RE:PLAY is a summit designed to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of sports, business, and consumer experiences. Our mission is to bridge the worlds of technology, live entertainment, creativity, and athletic intelligence—showcasing how AI & data enhance decision-making and storytelling to create smarter, more meaningful experiences across the entertainment ecosystem.
This semester at USF, the Business Intelligence in Sports course (led by Marcus Wingate, former USF alumnus and football player) gave students an unprecedented opportunity to work like an athletics front office team applying business intelligence tools and strategy to real datasets in ticketing, merchandise, and fan feedback. Throughout the semester Students gained valuable insights from data representatives ranging from Vinik Sports Group to the Tampa Bay Rays.
The course culminated in a capstone challenge: design and pitch a Conversational AI prototype that turns data into smarter fan engagement. Along the way, students mastered essential BI tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau/Power BI), built data-backed fan personas tied to KPIs, and created analytics dashboards that transform insights into strategic action.
Now, RE:PLAY invites innovators, students, and industry leaders to reimagine what's possible when human imagination meets machine intelligence in sports and live entertainment.
Expect live keynotes, real-time demos, and student pitches delivered to a curated audience of leaders from the Rays, Buccaneers, Lightning, and USF Athletics, all gathered to hear the next generation's fresh ideas on how AI can enhance consumer experiences.
