Manny’s Writing Club

This unique club invites participants to engage deeply with the Mission District through guided writing prompts and sensory exploration. We'll begin each session with warm-up exercises inside Manny’s to build trust, curiosity, and creative flow. Next, we’ll head outside and engage with the streets, colors, sounds, and people of the surrounding neighborhood with different focuses for form and content.

We’ll return to Manny’s to reflect, share, and write pieces that act as testaments to place, to imagination, and to community. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or simply curious, this workshop offers a powerful way to see, and write, the world anew.
