Spend the day creating tree-inspired art: Learn awesome watercolour skills, print using repurposed materials, experiment with nature collage and make quirky sculptures. Discover how to make art ON A TREE! End the day by binding your works into a tree-themed art book.
Registered, fully DBS’d primary teachers and professional artists Kate Thompson (www.nature-child.org) and Emma Kate Ochom (www.ekodesigncraft.wordpress.com) will take your child on a day-long creative adventure using materials and art techniques designed to delight all budding artists and nature-enthusiasts – a chance to use professional materials and really expand their imaginations.
YYMD has partnered up with Nature Child to support the creativity and well-being of children through connection with nature. The school is kindly hosting a series of events and workshops with Emma and Kate, over the coming year, which will take place in the school hall, next to the library and in the school grounds.
Parents should drop off their children at 9am but are welcome to stay on site while their child settles in. Activities will begin at 9:30am.
Children will need to bring a drink and a packed lunch (including a snack for break time), coats, wellies (and waterproof trousers if they have them) and to wear messy clothes.
Parents /carers will need to provide two emergency contact numbers upon drop-off. A form will be provided.
In order to give every child the support and attention they need, we have limited the number of spaces to 18 children for the day, so please book early to ensure your place and avoid disappointment.
If you have any further questions, or your child has additional needs of any kind, please get in touch by emailing Kate and Emma at office@nature-child.org before booking so that we can ensure your child has a safe and fantastic day.
