Artist Portfolio Development

The session provides guidance, support, and professional development tips helping artists refine their practice and achieve their creative and professional goals. The session includes the following key elements:


1. Your Art

  • Introduce your work and what your practice is. Guidance is designed to support each artist’s unique art practice.

2. Skill Development & Technique Improvement

  • Personalized support in development of artistic techniques and creative direction, including detailed feedback and evaluation during the session.

3. Professional Growth

  • Art market guidance, pricing strategies and advice on exhibition opportunities specific to the artwork.

4. Portfolio & Branding

  • Guidance on further development to produce a compelling portfolio suited for exhibitions, grant applications, and commissions.

5. Accountability & Support

  • Post Critique session - A one-on-one check-in, available via whatsapp, phone or email.
  • Encouragement and motivation to overcome creative blocks, maintain consistency, and stay on track with artistic goals.


Session Logistics

Bring along artworks you are currently in the process of making or produce new works during the session. Images of previous works to share and get a sense of what you do as an artist.

You can work can be in any medium; including painting, print-making, collage, textiles and mixed-media. You can also bring electronic devices to share web and online works.

The session begins where the artist can discuss their current position, what they do now and long-term aspirations. This initial conversation provides valuable feedback and an overview of how they can develop their practice moving forward.

Artwork analysis - An in depth analysis of the work where key areas of development are identified and broken down into specific, measurable tasks and actions. These structured focus areas will form the foundation of artwork production going forward.

Industry insights and promotion routes for the work.

Each artist will have access to:

  • Post session feedback via WhatsApp, phone or email.
  • A chance to book further sessions in person or on Zoom.

This session offers a well-rounded, structured approach to creating individual artwork, making sure that participants receive both creative and professional support.
